Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook sufficient to maintain data and produce high-quality documents, spreadsheets, presentations and reports.

  • Demonstrated experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, as well as presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and effective manner.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills sufficient to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, coordinate activities, initiate research, and anticipate and resolve problems effectively.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills sufficient to provide clear direction, outline expectations, facilitate meetings, and address general project questions related to contracts, policies, and procedures.

  • A valid Class D Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using ArcGIS or comparable GIS software for data entry, mapping, or spatial analysis.

  • Experience working within Federal and Minnesota environmental laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Knowledge of acoustics, noise abatement principles, or transportation noise standards.

The purpose of this position is to support MnDOT Metro's Noise and Air Quality program by conducting field noise measurements, completing traffic noise modeling analyses, and maintaining accurate environmental data to inform project development and respond to public concerns. The position ensures that noise impacts are properly identified, evaluated, and communicated through the collection, analysis, and reporting of technical data. Through these efforts, the position ensures that MnDOT projects meet noise-related regulatory requirements and supports informed decision making for noise mitigation and environmental stewardship.
