Job description

For a globally operating R&D organization within the diagnostics and medical technology environment, we are looking for a Junior System Support Engineer (m/f/d) to join a highly technical and collaborative R&D Service chapter based in Rotkreuz.

This team supports complex diagnostic systems throughout their entire lifecycle - from early development phases to post-launch support. In this junior role, you will be trained, mentored, and gradually empowered to become a key technical contributor within a cross-functional, international environment.

You will work hands-on with advanced hardware and software systems, gaining deep insight into system behavior, service processes, and regulated laboratory environments., * Acting as a technical contact point for internal stakeholders on system-related service topics

  • Installing diagnostic systems (hardware & software) according to defined installation manuals
  • Performing system qualifications (IQ/OQ) and preventive maintenance activities
  • Independently troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software issues
  • Managing deployments and servicing of systems with different configurations
  • Ensuring accurate documentation in line with quality and regulatory standards
  • Supporting global development trials with technical expertise

Requirements

You bring a technical education or engineering background and already have first hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, or repairing complex technical systems. You enjoy systematic troubleshooting, are curious by nature, and want to grow into a strong system expert over time.

You are comfortable working with hardware, software, and IT configurations, communicate confidently in German and English, and thrive in an environment where learning and asking questions is encouraged., * Completed technical vocational training (e.g. mechatronics, electronics technician, precision mechanic) or an academic degree in:

  • Mechatronics
  • Electronics / Automation
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Medical Devices Engineering
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience, ideally gained during vocational training or early career roles such as:
  • Service technician
  • Automotive mechanic
  • Precision mechanic
  • Strong logical thinking and a structured approach to troubleshooting complex systems
  • Interest in working across hardware, software, and IT setups
  • Fluent German and English
  • Proactive, service-oriented team player with a strong willingness to learn

Nice to Haves

  • Motivation to work in a highly regulated environment
  • Openness to working in laboratory settings with biosafety levels S1 and S2 (training provided)
