Job description
To make sure that no water is left around the edge of the silicon wafer and to prevent bubbles from entering in the light path, a water extraction channel system is used. In this simulation Master Thesis projects, you will analyze the fluid mechanics of this water extraction system, combining two-phase flow, evaporation, capillary and pressure driven microfluidics. During this project you work closely together with the experimental intern., In this simulation project you will focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). You perform numerical simulations of the water flow in the extraction system around the wafer. You will work with a commercial simulation software package available at ASML. Your simulation data analysis will provide quantitative data to compare to theoretical analysis and the experimental results.
