Job description
We are seeking an experienced Data Lead to join a global technology services organisation on a 9-month hybrid contract based in Huntingdon (2 days per week on-site). This is a critical onsite leadership role anchoring an analytics data pod across an onsite and offshore delivery model, supporting a major data transformation programme for a global food manufacturing and supply chain organisation. The successful candidate will drive data readiness across enterprise platforms including SAP S/4HANA, MES, and planning systems, leveraging a modern Azure-based data ecosystem., * Lead and accelerate an existing data workstream, ensuring continuity, pace, and delivery of business-critical outcomes
- Define and drive the data readiness roadmap covering testing, rehearsal, cutover, and live operations
- Identify and manage data objects across domains including master data, transactional data, production, and supply chain
- Coordinate data collection, cleansing, structuring, and validation across multiple enterprise platforms including SAP, MES, and planning systems
- Ensure data consistency across platforms and drive integration across ERP, planning, and supply chain systems
- Lead, govern, and coordinate a 4-member offshore pod comprising a Technical Lead, BA, and Developers
- Track and manage data quality, completeness, risks, and dependencies throughout the programme
- Work closely with business stakeholders across finance, supply chain, and plant operations
- Engage with vendors, implementation partners, and programme leadership, providing day-to-day leadership, stakeholder management, and escalation handling
- Drive data lake, analytics, and reporting capabilities using the Azure and Power BI ecosystem
Requirements
- Strong experience in Data Engineering, Data Management, or Data Migration programmes within large-scale transformation environments
- Proven leadership in data delivery, with experience managing onsite-offshore delivery models
- Hands-on experience with the Azure data stack including ADLS Gen2, ADF/Fabric, SQL, and Power BI
- Exposure to ERP and manufacturing ecosystems, particularly SAP S/4HANA, MES, and planning systems
- Strong understanding of data structures (master, transactional, operational), data quality, governance, and lifecycle management
- Ability to engage and manage both business and IT stakeholders across multiple functions
- Strong programme execution, problem-solving, and escalation management skills
- Desirable: experience in CPG, food manufacturing, or supply chain domains; exposure to plant start-up, cutover, or transformation programmes; familiarity with data lake architecture and modern analytics platforms such as Microsoft Fabric; experience with Agile POD-based delivery models; and knowledge of GDPR and data compliance in cloud environments
