Job description

The purpose of this position is to manage a dynamic AWS cloud-based network consisting of network resources that support multi-tiered HA/Clustered AWS Transit Routing, Firewalls, Load balancers and Monitoring capabilities using various cloud services within AWS & OCI. Other services like cloud native, routers, and operating systems (Windows and Linux) are a possibility in cloud contract. This role involves coordinating with department team to plan, design, and schedule the release of all software and hardware, updates, and upgrades. This role is a member of a large technical team responsible for the design, development, and implementation (DDI) of Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) for multiple states. This high-volume system operates out of multiple data centers and cloud environments like AWS and Oracle., * Function as an individual contributor and work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment designing, implementing, and maintain the organizations' multiple Cloud Networks and/or IT Infrastructure.

  • Design and implement security measures to protect the organization's cloud network.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, SysOps, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud native services in AWS & OCI.
  • Maintain detailed network diagrams, documentation, and procedures for network operations, changes, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Oversee the development, enhancement of processes and technical documentation, as well as the creation of back-up procedures, test plans, and reports.
  • Design network architecture that meets the business requirements, utilizing AWS & OCI networking services such as VPC, VCN, DRG, Direct Connect, Fast Connect, Route 53, and Transit Gateway.
  • Respond to and resolve customer problems with problem identification in the form of an after-action report.
  • Configure and manage virtual private clouds (VPCs/VCNs), subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, and VPNs on AWS & OCI.
  • Manage and monitor security tools like Shield, WAF (Web Application Firewall), and AWS/OCI Network Firewall to protect against DDoS attacks and unauthorized access.
  • Develop and manage policies on Cloud Checkpoint firewall and in on-prem Cisco ASA firewalls.
  • Architect and deploy F5 ASM policies to protect web applications from threats like SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, DDoS, and bot attacks
  • Develop and deploy access policies using F5 APM to enforce identity-based access control for internal and external users.
  • Integrate with SSO/MFA solutions (e.g., SAML, OAuth, LDAP, Active Directory, RADIUS) for secure authentication
  • Ensure that cloud and network architectures adhere to industry standards and compliance requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
  • Stay up to date with the latest AWS & OCI services, networking trends, and best practices, applying them to improve network performance and security.
  • Develop and maintain WAN Optimization technologies.
  • Proactively check network system for error conditions and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Utilize network management application to perform fault detection, identify performance metrics, and generate reports to support specific service
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years of implementation experience with various Cloud Services like AWS.
  • Hands-on working experience with various Cloud Services like AWS & OCI.
  • Expert knowledge with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within network administration.
  • Expert level analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with all network topologies and routing protocols., * Bachelor's degree preferred, OR in lieu of the degree, equivalent related minimum work experience of 7 years.
  • Good to have AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Active CCNA certification.
