This position will be filled at either the Computing Systems Professional 1/2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
Computing Systems Professional 1 $72,800 - $115,400
The successful candidate will support customers and their systems, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with Windows Server patching and basic vulnerability remediation.
- Supporting the building of virtual machines by following established procedures.
- Helping maintain server inventory and updating lifecycle documentation.
- Participating in routine administration tasks, basic troubleshooting, and monitoring.
- Working directly with customers and stakeholders using professional communication.
- Collaborating with team members to improve processes and documentation.
Computing Systems Professional 2 $87,800 - $143,000 In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level the successful candidate will:
- Performing Windows Server patching and vulnerability remediation with moderate independence.
- Independently building virtual machines and maintaining server environments.
- Managing server inventory and ensuring lifecycle documentation accuracy.
- Handling more complex troubleshooting and routine system administration tasks.
- Engaging directly with customers and stakeholders to drive issue resolution.
- Contributing to improvements in processes, documentation, and service delivery.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vulnerability Remediation?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Basic understanding of Windows Server or Windows operating system concepts.
- Foundational knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
- Ability to follow documented processes and work with senior staff for guidance.
- Strong professionalism and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn vulnerability remediation and enterprise security practices.
- General troubleshooting skills and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q-Clearance., * Hands-on experience with Windows Server or enterprise Windows environments.
- Working knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with patching workflows and basic vulnerability remediation.
- Ability to work professionally with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Troubleshooting skills with ability to resolve common server issues.
- Understanding of security best practices and willingness to grow expertise.
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q-Clearance
Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combinations of education and experience. Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of four years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Windows system administration experience through coursework, labs, or internships.
- Familiarity with enterprise management tools (SCCM, Tanium, Ivanti).
- Exposure to compliance frameworks such as STIGs or CIS Benchmarks.
- Basic understanding of virtualization platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and interest in documentation.
Additional Desired Skills for Computing Systems Professional 2:
- Experience with enterprise management tools (SCCM, Tanium, Ivanti).
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks like STIGs and CIS Benchmarks.
- Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi or similar.
- Experience maintaining documentation or inventory records.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and support junior team members.
