Job description
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. You will report to the Business Intelligence Lead.
You will describe the technologies, applications and practices used to analyze an organization's raw data to create insightful and applicable business information. You will begin to influence the department's strategy. You will independently make technical decisions for project components without direction. You will exercise considerable latitude in determining goals and approaches to assignments., Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 3+ years of experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations.

Experience analyzing data to solve business problems and create data visualizations that move strategic direction.

Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data.

Proficiency in communication to senior and executive leadership.

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Advanced in SQL, SAS, and other data systems.

Experience with tools such as Tableau and Qlik for creating data visualizations.

Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and predictive modeling.

Experience creating analytics solutions for multiple healthcare sectors.
Benefits & conditions
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$89,000 - $121,400 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
