Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition - Santa Monica, CA, USA

The Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition role is focused on managing and advancing data collection processes that support AI model training. This position is pivotal in sourcing, ingesting, and scaling high-quality audio datasets efficiently. The role collaborates with AI scientists and leadership to enhance data infrastructure and drive the development of datasets that power next-generation consumer and enterprise products.

3. Responsibilities:

• Identify and incorporate new audio data sources into the ingestion pipeline.

• Operate and enhance cloud infrastructure for data ingestion using GCP and Terraform.

• Collaborate with AI scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and data quality.

• Partner with AI team members and leadership to define the dataset development roadmap.

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field.

• Over 5 years of software development experience.

• Proficiency in bash and Python scripting within Linux environments.

• Experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code, with professional use of at least one major cloud provider (preferably GCP).

• Familiarity with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• United States base salary range: $140,000 to $200,000 plus bonus and equity, depending on experience.
