Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Network Technician at Scott AFB, IL. The Network Implementations Engineer will perform installation oversight, configuration, testing, monitoring, servicing of network equipment and activation of networks for projects supporting the Department of Defense networks., * Coordinate with customers and DISA teams to activate new network services in accordance with DISA standards.

  • Perform Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A) activities and complete required reporting and documentation.
  • Implement network device configurations using predefined configuration templates (configlets).
  • Manage service orders and ensure changes follow established change management procedures.
  • Validate customer requirements using DISN tools and databases.
  • Coordinate circuit activations with commercial vendors to deliver end-to-end connectivity solutions.
  • Monitor network changes to ensure no adverse impact to customer traffic.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in collaboration with engineers, architects, and project managers.
  • Engage stakeholders to clarify requirements, obtain approvals, and keep service requests moving forward.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in network engineering or telecommunications support.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Experience configuring, testing, and activating network systems and devices.
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, WAN, and VRFs.
  • Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, and other network appliances.
  • Understanding of data and voice network design using military and commercial protocols.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both independently and on a team.

Benefits & conditions

  • Pay range: $68,000 - $83,000 (Based on years of relevant experience), * Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, federal holidays, and sick leave.
