Power BI Subject Matter Expert (SME)

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support business intelligence, reporting, and data governance initiatives within a large and complex defence-sector environment.

This role will act as the primary expert for Power BI technologies, providing technical leadership, best-practice guidance, training, and support for reporting solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping stakeholders transform data into actionable insights while ensuring governance, scalability, and user adoption across the organisation.

Key Responsibilitie

• sServe as the primary subject matter expert for Power BI solutions and reporting platforms
• .Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions
• .Provide expertise in Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) installation, configuration, administration, and optimisation
• .Create and maintain reporting frameworks that support business and operational decision-making
• .Develop and deliver training programmes, workshops, and user enablement initiatives for Power BI users and administrators
• .Advise stakeholders on best practices in business intelligence, reporting architecture, and data visualisation
• .Support data governance initiatives, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance in reporting and analytics processes
• .Collaborate with technical and business teams to identify reporting requirements and deliver effective solutions
• .Contribute to the adoption and integration of modern Microsoft data and analytics technologies, including Microsoft Fabric
• .Troubleshoot complex reporting and analytics issues and provide expert-level support
• .Promote continuous improvement of reporting capabilities, governance frameworks, and user experience
