Role Title: Automation Tester

Location: Glasgow- 2-3 days onsite

Duration: 31/12/2026

Rate: £313 per day all Inc. (PAYE through Umbrella)

Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, and experience with test automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for web, mobile, and/or API applications

  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and reusable test components

  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA team members to understand requirements and define test strategies

  • Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing

  • Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports on quality metrics

  • Maintain test environments, test data, and testing tools

  • Ensure best practices in test automation, coding standards, and quality assurance processes

  • Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to improve test efficiency

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Strong experience in automation testing using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#

  • Experience with test frameworks (eg, TestNG, JUnit, Mocha, PyTest)

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC)

  • Experience with version control tools like Git

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar

  • Good understanding of REST APIs and API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, etc.)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
