Job description
We are seeking a motivated individual to join us as a Lecturer/Senior Lecture and make a key contribution to our growing cyber security programme. The post holder will play a key role in teaching, curriculum development, and academic administration.
The successful candidate will be expected to design and deliver high-quality teaching materials, lead and support modules, supervised student projects and support students in achieving academic success. The role also involves contributing to curriculum development to ensure programmes remain aligned with current industry standards, emerging technologies and professional body requirements.
The post holder will actively participate in research, scholarly activity and knowledge exchange within the field of cyber security. They will be encouraged to develop research outputs, established collaborations with industry and academic partners, and contribute to research funding applications where appropriate.
The role requires a strong commitment to inclusive teaching, student support and continuous professional development. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to deliver teaching across a range of cyber security topics, which may include digital forensics, ethical hacking and incident response and emerging cyber threats.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have a PhD in Cyber Security, Computer Science or a closely related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate experience in teaching and supporting students in higher education, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to learners with diverse backgrounds and abilities. Candidates should have strong knowledge and practical experience in cyber security principles and technologies, with expertise in one or more specialist areas such as digital forensics, information security and network security. Experience with industry-standard tools, platforms and frameworks is highly desirable.
For Senior Lecturer appointments, evidence of research leadership, successful publication record, curriculum leadership, module coordination or experience supervising research students would be expected. Industry experience and established link with professional or industry partners would be desirable.
