Job description
We're hiring a Software Engineer to help us move faster on our mobile app and core marketplace product. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can build polished React Native experiences while also being comfortable working across the product stack when needed - especially with PostgreSQL, Supabase, and data-backed marketplace features.
You'll work directly with the founders and engineering team to improve the buyer and seller experience, ship mobile-first product improvements, and help turn Misprint into the default place collectors buy and sell Pokémon cards.
What you'll do
You'll primarily work on:
- Our iOS and Android apps built with React Native / Expo
- Core buyer and seller flows, including listing, browsing, offers, checkout, orders, and account experiences
- Mobile-first UX improvements across onboarding, discovery, search, card pages, collections, watchlists, and seller tools
- Product features that rely on PostgreSQL/Supabase data models, queries, permissions, and marketplace state
- Frontend polish, navigation, performance, and reliability across key user journeys
- Growth/product experiments that improve activation, conversion, retention, repeat purchase behavior, and marketplace liquidity
This is not a pure mobile-only role, but mobile will be a major focus. You should be excited to own React Native product work while still being comfortable understanding and working with the underlying data/product logic.
What success looks like in your first 60-90 days
- You've shipped meaningful improvements to our mobile app and core marketplace flows
- You understand our product, users, and marketplace mechanics well enough to propose improvements
- You've taken ownership of at least one important mobile or product area
- You're comfortable working with React Native, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Supabase-backed product logic
- You're helping us move faster without creating fragile systems
- The product feels better because of the details you notice and fix
Our stack
- Mobile: React Native, Expo, TypeScript
- Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
- Backend/Data: Supabase, PostgreSQL, Python, Node.js
- Infrastructure: Vercel, AWS, Porter
- Payments/Marketplace: Stripe, Stripe Connect

Requirements
For this role, React Native, React, and PostgreSQL experience are required. Expo and Supabase experience are ideal. Next.js experience is a plus, but not required., * Have 1+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience building and shipping real products
- Have experience building and shipping React Native applications, ideally with Expo
- Are strong with React, TypeScript, modern frontend patterns, and mobile-first product development
- Are comfortable working with PostgreSQL, SQL queries, data models, and product logic
- Have good product taste and care about UX, speed, reliability, and polish
- Can take a product problem and turn it into a shipped feature
- Communicate clearly, operate independently, and document as you go
- Like owning outcomes, not just completing tickets
- Are excited by marketplaces, payments, pricing data, trading cards, collectibles, or Pokémon
Benefits & conditions
- Intro call to learn more about Misprint, the role, and your background.
- Technical interview with the engineering team. This is not a LeetCode-style interview; we'll ask practical questions about products and systems you've built, how you approach React Native/product engineering work, and how you think through tradeoffs.
- Potential additional founder or team interview if helpful, focused on working style, ownership, and role fit.
- Offer conversation covering compensation, equity, start date, and next steps.
We care most about whether you can ship real product, communicate clearly, and operate well in an early-stage startup environment.
