Job description
We're hiring a Network Security Analyst for a 12-month contract (extension likely) supporting a State of South Carolina government agency. It's a hands-on seat on the security operations team - real firewall, network, and alert work, not a meetings-all-day role.
Work authorization: US Citizens and Green Card holders only.
What you'll do:
- Investigating and responding to daily network security alerts
- Security assessments on firewall and infrastructure changes
- Firewall rule reviews, ruleset recertification, connectivity/block requests
- Analyzing on-prem and cloud traffic for threats and policy violations
- Compliance against HIPAA, NIST, CMS ARC-AMPE, SCDIS-200
- Supporting the SOC and senior analysts on daily cyber ops, The details:12-month contract, extension likely100% onsite in Columbia, SC Interview: 1-2 virtual rounds Pre-employment checks: criminal, drug, credit, motor vehicle
Requirements
need:5-7+ years hands-on in network design, implementation, or support Solid IT security or system administration background Hands-on with secure network design, enterprise firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and reading logs and telemetry A network security certification: CCNA or PCNSEBS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience CISSP or Security+ Cloud network security (Azure or AWS)Health IT or state and local government experience Familiarity with FISMA, NIST, CMS ARC-AMPE,HIPAA
