Remote Java Full-Stack Engineer

An aerospace employer is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their team remotely aligned with Eastern Standard Time zone. This is open because the team needs additional development support for their Interactive Test Environment (ITE) application upgrade. The current ITE is a legacy application that pulls engine data including engine sensor data with measurements on how the engines are running and allows users to search through this data and process the data accordingly through different models. The current application is written in Fortran, and the new ITE application is being written primarily in Java and Python. The team is looking to continue move forward with setting up the new testing environment in the new application and setting up their CI/CD pipeline in Terraform. This new ITE application will reside in the Azure cloud, so strong cloud expertise Is required specifically around Azure Databricks and Azure Gov Cloud. This Full Stack Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and management of a new cloud-based software, and should have experience deploying applications working with Azure. They will also be responsible for implementing data pipelines with Airflow or a related technology, and implementing DevOps pipelines. They will also assist with deployment of application performance monitoring tools to improve performance utilizing Datadog or Grafana.

8+ years of experience as a Java Full Stack Software Engineer

Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field

Experience with Apache tools such as Airflow

Strong experience with Azure, cloud deployments, and related technologies preferably Azure Databricks and Azure Gov Cloud

Experience working in Agile methodology as part of a Scrum team including daily standups and retrospectives

Experience with SQL and Oracle databases

Strong understanding of data engineering and related processes

Experience in Aerospace or Manufacturing industry Experience with Python

Experience in the Aerospace industry
