Job description
We are seeking an experienced IT Specialist/Engineer with strong utility industry expertise to support Southern California Edison's Outage Management System (OMS) environment. The ideal candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for OpenGrid Network (formerly PragmaUP/PragmaLINE), providing technical and operational support for OMS-related initiatives, system enhancements, database/server upgrades, and outage management operations.
This role requires a combination of utility operations knowledge, application support experience, database skills, and infrastructure expertise to ensure the reliability and performance of critical outage management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the OMS platform, specifically OpenGrid Network (PragmaUP/PragmaLINE).
- Provide technical support for OMS-related projects, operational activities, and customer communication initiatives.
- Analyze and support OMS system logic, workflows, business processes, and data integrations.
- Assist with OMS configuration, customization, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities.
- Support database and Windows Server operating system upgrade projects, including planning, testing, validation, and implementation.
- Perform application maintenance, monitoring, and operational support for OMS environments.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation procedures for system upgrades and enhancements.
- Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with utility operations, engineering, infrastructure, and vendor teams to support business objectives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support guides.
- Support data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting activities using SQL and Python.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field., * 5+ years of experience supporting utility applications in an electric utility environment.
- Hands-on experience with OpenGrid Network (formerly PragmaUP/PragmaLINE) or similar Outage Management Systems.
- Experience supporting OMS application maintenance and back-office operations.
- Strong understanding of utility outage management processes and workflows.
- Experience with SQL databases, including querying, troubleshooting, and data validation.
- Experience with Windows Server administration, maintenance, and operational support.
- Experience supporting application upgrades, testing, and production deployments.
- Knowledge of system integrations, data flows, and operational support processes.
