Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Snowflake Data Platform Operations Engineer to join our Cloud Data Operations team. This role is central to the day-to-day support and operational readiness of the Snowflake environment. The successful candidate will provide first-level support for Snowflake platform applications, assist with operational rotation and disaster recovery exercises, and ensure the platform's availability, performance, and compliance with business continuity standards., * Provide first-level support for Snowflake platform applications, including incident triage, resolution, and escalation.

  • Monitor Snowflake platform health and performance using observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or Snowsight.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) and Operational Rotation exercises, ensuring platform readiness and validating business continuity plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute operational runbooks for Snowflake support scenarios and application recovery in a remote AWS region.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement platform updates and capture diagnostic information for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Support Snowflake object lifecycle management, including creation, modification, and retirement of databases, schemas, and roles.
  • Operate and manage Snowflake IAM services, including user and role management.
  • Support IAM integration with enterprise IAM tools such as Entra (Azure AD) or HashiCorp Vault.
  • Execute secrets rotation per policy and troubleshoot SCIM provisioning issues as required.
  • Contribute to the development of job aids, training materials, and documentation for operational support staff.
  • Use ITSM tools such as ServiceNow to manage incidents, problems, changes, and service requests.

Requirements

This position bridges engineering and operations, requiring strong troubleshooting skills, familiarity with Snowflake administration, and the ability to collaborate across teams to resolve issues and implement operational improvements., * 3+ years of experience in Snowflake platform operations or support.

  • SnowPro Core certification preferred; additional Snowflake certifications are a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL and basic scripting (Python or Bash) for operational automation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins) and infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with Linux system administration and batch scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys).
  • Basic AWS IaaS administration; Azure or GCP experience is acceptable.
  • Understanding of ITSM processes and tools (ServiceNow).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities., * Experience supporting Snowflake integrations with business analytics tools (Power BI, Looker, QuickSight).
  • Exposure to Snowpark Container Services and Snowpipe streaming/data ingestion capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake Cortex AI services.
  • Experience with CMDB tools such as CloudAware.
