Job description

ICF's Digital Modernization Division is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst with hands-on QA automation experience to support NIH projects. In this role, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of both Custom and ServiceNow-based solutions by partnering with developers, business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders across cross-functional teams.

The QA Analyst will support our NIH projects by collaborating and working with a cross-functional team to deliver quality, innovative, and highly scalable web-based applications to end clients, and will serve as a Quality Assurance Analyst, performing testing and verification/validation activities for team I.T. deliveries. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with cross-disciplinary teams.

Job Location: Remote (USA). Local candidates may be expected to work at the client site in Rockville, MD, at least 1-2 days per week.

Travel for a conference or to another ICF location for collaboration may be required once a year.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will support one or more project teams by:

  • Support automated and manual testing of the software application, including writing test cases, authoring test code, running test frameworks and scripts, and creating test reports.
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain automated functional test cases and other test artifacts, including test data and data verification.
  • Build automation framework and re-usable automation tests/test scripts using Playwright/Selenium.
  • Perform setup, configuration, and maintenance of automated testing environments with a focus on continuous testing and DevOps processes.
  • Use Jira or similar tools to provide visibility to status, metrics, predictability, throughput, quality, impediments, and dependencies.
  • Participate in requirements grooming for sprint preparation.
  • Maintain regression testing suits by updating test cases to include newly added functionality.
  • Take part in backlog grooming and sprint planning and work with the project team to identify risks/impacts to the system.
  • Perform various types of testing including automated, functional, and regression testing on web applications.
  • Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis, preliminary problem diagnosis, implement bug fixes and change requests.
  • Execute test cases and identify and track defects with clear steps to reproduce.
  • Work with the scrum team to analyze user stories and write test scripts using Gherkin syntax.
  • Conduct demos or training necessary for the successful execution of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ or more years of solid, demonstrable experience in various types of testing including front-end, regression, and performance testing on web-based applications.
  • 2+ years experience with Automated Testing tools (Selenium/Playwright)
  • 2+ years experience with Java/TypeScript specifically for automated testing for Playwright
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience integrating automation tests into CI pipelines.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience documenting and tracking defects and tests in JIRA and creating test plans for code promotion through tiered environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance.
  • Must reside in the United States, be authorized to work in the United States, and perform all work within the United States.
