Job description

Peraton is seeking a Senior Program/Project Manager to support the County of San Diego Program Management Office. The selected candidate will manage multiple enterprise IT projects for the County of San Diego Office of Technology and work closely with stakeholders, vendors, architects, and engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery., * Lead multiple enterprise IT projects from initiation through delivery

  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risks
  • Oversee Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities including design, development, testing, and release management
  • Drive project execution using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies
  • Coordinate with architects and technical teams on cloud, API, and microservices-based solutions
  • Develop project plans, staffing plans, implementation strategies, and work estimates
  • Prepare Statements of Work (SOWs) and project proposals
  • Manage third-party vendors and cross-functional teams
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance feedback
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and manage stakeholder expectations

Requirements

  • Bachelor''''s Degree in Computer Science, Project Management, or related field
  • Active PMP Certification
  • 5-10 years of experience leading and managing IT projects or programs
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models
  • Experience with project scheduling and resource planning
  • Experience managing budgets and project financials
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and ServiceNow
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting State and Local Government clients
  • Experience managing Time & Materials (T&M) projects
  • Experience working with cloud technologies, APIs, and microservices
  • Experience leading hybrid and onsite delivery teams
  • Proven success managing multiple vendors and matrixed organizations
