Job description

Duties: Enterprise Observability Strategy: Define and maintain observability standards, guidelines, and best practices for instrumentation, logging, tracing, metrics collection, and data retention across the organization. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to establish observability strategies aligned with business objectives and technical requirements. Business-Centric Observability: Enable business stakeholders to gain actionable insights into application performance, user experience, and business metrics through tailored observability practices. Tooling Leadership: Lead the evaluation, selection, and enterprise-wide implementation of observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and OpenTelemetry. Automation and Integration: Automate deployment and configuration of observability tools using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management practices. Governance and Compliance: Establish observability governance frameworks and conduct audits to ensure adherence to standards and regulatory compliance. Enablement and Advocacy: Develop training programs and documentation to promote observability best practices and foster a culture of observability across development and operations teams. Continuous Improvement: Introduce observability code reviews and automated validation checks in the SDLC, driving continuous improvement based on feedback and emerging technologies.

Requirements

8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Enterprise Architect, or related role.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, plus 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Enterprise Architect, or related role.

This role requires 5 years of experience with Azure Cloud.

This role requires 3 years of experience with Observability Tools including Splunk and Dynatrace.

This role requires 2 years of experience with Application Development using Microservice Architecture.

This role requires 1 year of experience with each of the following:

  • Business observability: implementing observability practices that provide real-time visibility into business-critical metrics, such as user engagement, transaction success rates, revenue-impacting errors, and customer experience KPIs; and

  • Instrumenting applications using OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing, metrics, and logging, including integration with observability platforms like Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or

Dynatrace.
