Job description
Designing and implementing AI models for data and signal analysis, in their experimental validation, in the development of software prototypes. Administration and optimization of the computing systems used for these purposes. Contribute to the development of advanced digital technologies and to the consolidation of strategic capabilities in applied artificial intelligence. Contribute to improving scientific and industrial competitiveness and strengthening strategic capabilities in applied artificial intelligence., All candidates must submit the required documentation before the application deadline, including:
- Curriculum vitae (CV).
- Language certificates or equivalent supporting documents.
- Proof of enrollment in a doctoral programme, such as an official certificate or equivalent document.
- Certificates for the Bachelor's and/or Master's degrees in Engineering, Telecommunications, Signal Processing, or a related discipline.
- Evidence of participation in research activities, including certificates or equivalent documents specifying the projects, dates, and roles undertaken.
- Any additional documentation supporting the candidate's compliance with the requirements and any other skills or merits listed in the CV.
Candidates will be ranked on the basis of their merits according to the following criteria:
- Mandatory requirements: candidates who do not meet the specific, language, and research requirements listed above will be considered ineligible (less than 50pts).
- Additional merits (starting form eligible, 50 pts): up to 5 points will be awarded for each of the following items, based on the supporting documentation provided. Points will be awarded per merit in addition to the minimum required in the requirements
- Being a first-year student enrolled in a doctoral programme.
- Having completed the first Master's degree less than two years before the application deadline.
- Scientific paper submissions within the last two years as co-author. Only submissions to JCR-indexed journals or CORE-ranked conferences will be considered.
- Participation in additional research projects. Candidates must provide a letter from the Principal Investigator or an official certificate.
- Involvement with a research group, awarded per additional 6 months beyond the required. This must be supported by an official certificate or a letter from the Principal Investigator.
- Additional industry or research experience through a contract, grant, or equivalent appointment. Additional comments

Operating Systems: Linux mandatory (bash/shell scripting), Windows/macOS System and network management: advanced user and/or administrator Tools: Git, Jupyter, mathematical computing libraries Programming: Python (expert), PyTorch, NumPy, scikit-learn Document Preparation and reporting: LaTeX (advanced), Microsoft Word & PowerPoint (templates, formatting) Specific Requirements
AI & Machine Learning: Deep learning (minimum 2 year) Signal Processing: radar/speech/audio/video (minimum 2 years) Software Development: Prototyping (min. 2 major GitHub projects) Domain Expertise: Telecommunications, Image and Video processing, access control systems, security hardware (provide at least 2 related projects) Research experience: design, experimental validation, academic writing (min. 2 papers submitted) Background: Signal Theory and Communications (Master's degree completed) Work experience: minimum 2 year collaborating/integrated in Research Group(s) + 1 yr. additional experience in industry or research.
