Job description

  • Provide technical leadership and coaching, driving engineering best practices, quality standards, and scalable design across the team.
  • Design and build secure, compliant backend services and microservices supporting clinical data platforms and data movement.
  • Develop scalable data pipelines and extend data lake architecture to ensure performance, governance, and reliability.
  • Ensure system quality through code reviews, performance optimization, testing automation, CI/CD, and observability (monitoring/alerting).
  • Maintain operational excellence by integrating components and resolving production issues (e.g., ingestion failures, schema drift, performance bottlenecks)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (product, UX/design, QA, data/AI, and engineering teams) to define, design, and ship features aligned with clinical and platform needs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of end-to-end software development experience, including design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong backend expertise in Golang and REST API design (Swagger/OpenAPI) with focus on reliability, resilience, and observability.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., NATS/Kafka/RabbitMQ), Linux environments, and containerized microservices (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Solid database design and performance tuning skills (e.g., PostgreSQL/MS SQL), plus familiarity with cloud-native and DevOps practices.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with ability to mentor engineers and operate effectively in agile environments (medical/regulated experience is a plus).
