This Configuration Manager will be responsible for ensuring that programme products, systems, documentation, technical baselines, and associated changes are identified, controlled, recorded, and audited throughout the programme lifecycle.
This role is critical in maintaining programme integrity, supporting change governance, and ensuring compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing
- Develop and implement Configuration Management processes, procedures, and standards.
- Establish and maintain configuration baselines across programme products, systems, and documentation.
- Manage configuration identification, status accounting, audits, and verification activities.
- Administer and support programme change control processes.
- Coordinate Configuration Control Boards and associated governance activities.
- Ensure all approved changes are correctly assessed, documented, authorised, and implemented.
- Maintain accurate configuration records and traceability throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Support engineering, systems, delivery, commercial, and customer teams with configuration management activities.
- Conduct configuration audits and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor configuration-related risks and issues.
- Support programme reviews, assurance activities, and customer audits.
- Drive continuous improvement of configuration management processes and tools.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, * Significant experience in Configuration Management within defence, aerospace, engineering, or highly regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of configuration management principles and lifecycle controls.
- Experience managing product, system, software, and documentation baselines.
- Experience operating change control and governance processes.
- Strong attention to detail and governance discipline.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Desirable
- Understanding of systems engineering and product development lifecycles.
- Experience working within MOD or defence programmes.
- Knowledge of ISO 10007 Configuration Management standards.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering approaches and standards.
- Experience supporting complex engineering programmes.
- Security-cleared environments.
