Job description
Leading bank looking for a GCP Platform Architect to join the team in a long-term contract role. The Technical Architect is part of the technical authority of their Platform and responsible for key design decision.
As a GCP Technical Architect you will be responsible for:
- Defining platform architecture and key design decisions for the GCP Foundation Platform
- Ensure all non-functional requirements for the platform meet business needs and BCP requirements
- Develop an operational Risk framework to manage business risk
- Ensure all relevant architecture governance, policy, and standards are met
- Represent the GCP Cloud Platform in architectural discussions with internal IT partners and external vendors
- Maintain and manage all customer facing information and knowledge bases for Platform Architecture and key design decisions
- Provide Management reporting to ensure data driven discussions for continuous improvement
- Gather requirements and provide continuous feedback loops between customer and Engineering teams

- Public IaaS/PaaS Cloud
- Have a high level business understanding of, and the implications of Cloud adoption for:
- Wealth and Personal Banking (inc Private Banking)
- Markets and Security Services
- Commercial Banking
- Able to translate business needs into appropriate IT (and Cloud) solutions.
- Have a system engineering background and the ability to compare and contrast different solutions to meet a business requirement.
- Provide technical thought leadership in evaluation of new technologies to meet business requirements and influence key stakeholders leading to adoption.
Based in Sheffield, Birmingham or Leeds offices - Hybrid working/3 days per week
