Job description
- Serve as an expert and be routinely involved in decision making relative to database processes and standards, technology or business related issues.
- You will also coach and mentor team members.
- Have broad contacts with multiple functional and business partners on strategic business relationships and project
- Apply detailed analysis to optimize Information Technology (IT) infrastructure in support of major business processes
- Implement and optimize the integration of new Database infrastructure (database installs, upgrades, patches, etc.) using approved IT processes
- Will lead / facilitate / participate in group meetings or teams responsible for strategic projects that span two or more functional areas
- Establish, design and implement project measurement techniques
- Design and implement complex changes which impact multiple processes and functions. These changes may be innovative solutions required for new business processes and procedures.
- Provide leadership in the change communication process by promoting new ways of communicating and coordinating change information
- Manage the current infrastructure to allow for maximum availability (security management, monitoring backups, recovery, etc), at a minimum cost, and optimizing performance in a complex environment for multiple business processes
Requirements
-
4+ years of managing production Oracle databases (Unix, Linux, Windows)

Strong understanding of Oracle Databases infrastructure (Oracle 10g, 11g)

Operating systems (Solaris, Linux, Windows), Shell scripting and the ability to troubleshoot in those environments

Experience working with Quest products (Performance Analysis, Spotlight, Toad, Lite Speed)

Experience in Real Application Clusters (RAC)

Experience in Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA)

Experience in Oracle running in a clustered (non RAC) environment

Experience as a Database Technical Lead

Knowledge and skills necessary to implement and maintain one or more of the following components:
-
Database (including installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining databases, backups, recoveries), database access security and computing hardware and operating system

Business Process Knowledge of the Oracle Database Infrastructure

Understanding of database processes and methodology

Stong Analytical skills, * Bachelor's degree in a business related field or equivalent
