System engineer

For our client based in the port of Antwerp, we are looking for a System Engineer with some experience. This position is a creation of a new post, and you will part of a team of 5 people including you.

You will take part in IT infrastructure projects, monitor the status of servers and take necessary measures and also do 2nd & 3rd line support.

You are a real team player and are eager to learn new technologies and adapt in a rapidly evolving IT world.

You are physically part of the Information Systems team.

• You manage virtual servers, NAS systems, backup systems, VOIP systems, firewalls, network switches, etc.,
• You participate in 2nd and 3rd line support for internal staff,
• You perform project work within the IT infrastructure,
• You maintain servers and suggest improvements,
• You deploy security patches, you follow up incidents,
• You work according to the ICT policies and working methods,
• You participate in internal meetings and safety meetings.

• Bachelor in computer science or engineering,
• 3 - 5 years work experience as a system engineer,
• Extensive experience in Active Directory administration and user management,
• In-depth knowledge of configuring and managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs),
• In-depth knowledge in network administration (DHCP/DNS), with specific experience in computer switches, routing and firewalls (Cisco and Fortinet),
• Experience with Microsoft SQL databases,
• Experience with NAS and backup systems (HPE Nimble, Baracuda),
• Thorough knowledge of Windows and Windows server,
• Knowledge & support experience for O365,
• Working experience with service management tools for incidents and requests,
• Demonstrated knowledge of monitoring software for ensuring system performance.
