Job description

Digital Tracking & Analytics Engineer (Web Developer) needed urgently for our FMCG client based in Glasgow (though the role can be worked fully remotely) for an initial 1-2-month contract. The right candidate must have extensive demonstrable experience as a Web Developer working with paid advertising, cookie consent, Google Ads etc along with strong experience in Google Tag Manager (GTM) alongside strong Advert platform tracking experience, including Meta & TikTok and CAPI., The role requires a strong Digital Tracking Engineer/Web Analytics implementation specialist to audit, stabilise and remediate their current TikTok, Meta, GA4 and GTM tracking setup across both web browser and Server Side implementations. Some of the deliverables will include ensuring clean, deduplicated and accurate event tracking across browser and server, ensuring sessions and conversions are attributing correctly and improve tracking for paid ad platforms to help improve quality scores.

Requirements

  • Proven track record as a Web Developer & Tracking Engineer, ideally including some WordPress experience.
  • Advanced Google Tag Manager (web + Server Side GTM) experience.
  • Experience with Meta, TikTok Pixel & Events API (CAPI)
  • Strong understanding of consent management (Consent Mode, CMP integration).
  • Experience handling PII compliance in analytics platforms (especially GA4)
  • WooCommerce/data layer implementation experience (GTM4WP preferred).
  • Ability to debug cross-environment tracking (browser + server).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and engage with the wider technical teams.
