Test Analyst - Poker

Job Title: Test Analyst - Poker Location: Fully Remote Day Rate: Outside IR35 Duration: Until the end of the year - Strong chance of extension.

• Must have strong working knowledge of poker, the rules, gameplay, poker mechanics, etc
• Experience testing Back End systems

Why Apply? This is a contract opportunity to work on the Back End of a poker platform for a well-established name in the online gaming space. Rather than working through a fixed set of test cases, you'll be given areas of the system to investigate and asked to work out what's happening and why. It's a role suited to someone who enjoys digging into a problem rather than just running through a script.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with developers and product teams to understand the technical requirements behind new features and existing functionality
• Design test scenarios and test cases that properly exercise the poker server, covering both new and existing functionality
• Trace and analyse server logs to understand system behaviour and identify where things have gone wrong
• Communicate findings to developers in a clear, actionable way
• Verify bugs once fixes are committed, and provide sign off or remedial recommendations
• Use automation tools where appropriate to speed up the testing process
• Work from documentation and requirements early on, flagging risk and potential issues before they reach build

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of poker, including popular variants such as Texas Hold'em and Omaha
• Genuine Back End or system testing experience, ideally including API testing
• Experience with C++ preferred, though candidates with Back End testing experience in C#, Java, or Python are equally welcome
• No previous experience testing poker products specifically required
• Familiarity with JIRA or similar test management tools is a plus
• Exposure to automation tools or AI assisted QA processes is a plus
• Awareness of agile and scrum ways of working
• Strong written and spoken communication skills
