Job description
We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide essential technical support, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, and maintain the organisation's IT infrastructure. The IT Technician will play a vital role in supporting end-users, maintaining network security, and ensuring optimal performance across various operating systems and platforms., * Provide technical support and assistance to end-users via help desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution of issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software problems across multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Maintain and support computer hardware components such as desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
- Configure and manage network components including LAN, VPNs, firewalls, and switches to ensure secure connectivity.
- Assist in the setup, installation, and upgrade of software applications such as Microsoft Office suite and specialised enterprise tools like BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira.
- Monitor system performance and perform routine maintenance to prevent downtime or security breaches.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate records of incidents using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies or upgrades that improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with organisational security policies by managing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.
- Provide training or guidance to users on new systems or software applications to enhance user experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT support roles with a strong understanding of computer networking principles.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues across Windows.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure including LAN configuration, VPNs, firewalls, and switches.
- Experience with hardware maintenance and upgrades for desktops, laptops, servers, or peripherals.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy or ServiceNow for incident management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office applications efficiently.
