Job description
The Network, Infrastructure and Security (NIS) Administrator at Russell Sage College will be part of a team that is responsible for all aspects of networking and systems administration on both RSC campuses. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required., * Systems Infrastructure
- Container orchestration via Kubernetes/FluxCD GitOps, Docker & Compose
- Proxmox/KVM virtualization managed with OpenTofu
- CI/CD pipelines and automation using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Python, PowerShell, and Bash
- Reverse proxy management across Caddy, Cloudflare, and NGINX
- Linux and Windows server administration via Ansible & Puppet, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Intune
- Supporting Network services across 2 campuses:
- Extreme Wireless Access points using ExtremeCloud IQ
- Extreme switches across Included in this is ACL, Policy, Routing, Port Access configuration.
- Extensive telephony system including PBX, VOIP gateways and VOIP to analog appliances
- Manage Security Cameras and Camera System.
- Constant internal Site Surveying, for improvements of the wireless with Heat Mapping.
- Monitoring the infrastructure using tools like, Zabbix, Librenms and Prometheus.
- Sage Security - with tools like Cloudflare, Crowdsec & Wazuh.
- Managing Cloud Based Services
- Atlassian products including Jira, Service Desk and Confluence
- Azure cloud services, including Active Directory, Intune, Defender.
- Google Suite - User Creation & Management and Google Suite Management
- Microsoft Cloud - Including Azure, Entra and Office365
- Non-Technical Requirements
- Help defining policies
- Writing documentation
- Provide new ideas to improve technology delivery at Sage
- Works with other Sage Departments to facilitate projects
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
The estimated salary range is $60,925- $74,463 per year for 40 hours per week for 52 weeks.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Network infrastructure management?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, A proficient administrator will possess the ability to troubleshoot both new and existing technologies spanning hardware, networks, operating systems, applications, and cloud/SaaS services, confidently resolving known issues while developing fresh solutions when confronted with problems outside their prior experience.
Effective communication is a critical skill for an RSC NIS Administrator. A proficient administrator must be able to convey technical information in a clear and concise manner to a diverse audience including their peers, faculty, students, staff, and the public, tailoring their explanations to suit varying levels of technical understanding and ensuring that all parties are informed and supported., * Associate degree in computer science, data processing, or related field
- Three to five years of System/networking experience, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position
