Application Developer

In this role, you will support Charles River-driven workflows across Portfolio Engineering, Optimization, Guidelines, Implementation, Trading, and Trade Operations. You will collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Technology teams to implement CRD enhancements, API integrations, portfolio optimization workflows, and automation solutions. This position reports to the AVP - PMG Technology Services., * Lead the end-to-end delivery of CRD enhancements, including requirements, design, configuration, integrations, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

• Configure Manager Work Bench or Central Work Bench layouts, workflows, rules, and result sets.
• Perform hands-on work with the Charles River API Framework, covering both frontend and backend APIs for UI workflows, data calls, order submissions, and trading flows.
• Build and support integration workflows utilizing REST APIs, services, and messaging frameworks.
• Apply a working knowledge of portfolio optimization concepts such as risk models, constraints, exposures, and transaction cost analysis.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Engineering teams to support optimization workflows that feed into the CRD system.
• Ensure Start-of-Day readiness for CRD and maintain ongoing system stability.
• Translate requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, user stories, diagrams, and interface documentation.

• 10+ years of experience in Application Development.
• 5+ years of experience with Python programming.
• 5+ years of experience in the Investment or Wealth Management industry.
• 3+ years of experience in CRD or another Order Management System (OMS) implementation or customization, including Workbench configuration.
• Experience with OMS Batch Automation, including monitoring and exception handling.
• Hands-on experience with the OMS API Framework (frontend and backend).
• Experience with Order Management workflows, markets, and trading processes for Equities and Fixed Income.
• Experience using Agile SDLC, process diagramming, and workflow mapping.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced SQL, including complex queries and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Java or C# to interpret, collaborate on, and support integrations.
• Experience with REST API integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with portfolio optimization concepts and tools such as Axioma and OMEGA Point.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience.
