Job description

  • Run multiple projects at the same time and on schedule
  • Develop realistic/achievable action plans to support testing strategies
  • Escalate any potential issues early to mitigate program schedule slips
  • Address potential issues proactively and applies real-time problem solving skills to achieve prompt resolution
  • Operate electronic data capture equipment and compile all contained data
  • Build and test new and existing product designs
  • Support all testing both in house and at outside test facilities
  • Design fixtures and test setups that will make testing more complete and efficient
  • Troubleshoot non-functioning designs to support engineering
  • Support the develop assembly procedures and document the development build process
  • Work with team to develop action plans and strategies to support and accommodate testing and development of new products
  • Create testing procedures, plans, and reports
  • Support the full implementation of planning and production techniques for both one off and repetitive product manufacturing
  • Ensure that all activities related to product development are executed and documented in a manner which is compliant to corporate and regulatory requirements
  • Effectively communicate exceptions to established/agreed upon schedules to all affected parties internal/external to the Marotta Organization

  • Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required).
  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements.

  • Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals
  • Assist in the training of personnel to perform required technical tasks (as directed)

  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.

Work Environment:

  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
  • Travel is required (20% - 40%)

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • The employee is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary

Requirements

  • B.S. Engineering is required
  • 2-5 years design experience with a variety of valves and fluid control devices preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls
  • Solid analytical skills are required: stress analysis, heat transfer, fluid flow
  • Ability to solve complex mechanical, static and dynamic problems
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and compressible flow
  • Must work precisely, accurately, and with close attention to all details
  • High level of mechanical aptitude and knowledge
  • Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Superior communication skills
  • Defense/aerospace experience a plus
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance, therefore you must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance
  • Highly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Salary Range: $87,750 - $115,000/year Many of our contracts require proof that you are a U.S. citizen and/or that an export license has been obtained for employees who are citizens of certain countries. Your employment, both initially and continually thereafter, is conditioned on production of such proof of citizenship and/or any export license that may be required to comply with any and all applicable laws, regulations, or executive orders, or required by Federal, State, or local government contracts.
