Job description

The developer builds and optimizes complex data integration workflows using the Ab Initio enterprise software suite. They ensure healthcare data securely transfers between legacy systems, operational data stores, and modern cloud data warehouses while adhering to strict healthcare data quality and privacy standards., ETL Graph Development: Design and code complex Ab Initio graphs, plans, and sub-plans using the Graphical Development Environment (GDE).

Performance Tuning: Optimize processing speed using Multi-File Systems (MFS), parallel processing, pipeline parallelism, and dynamic lookup tables.

Healthcare Data Mapping: Translate complex business requirements into source-to-target data mappings for healthcare data formats (e.g., EDI 834 enrolment, EDI 837 claims).

Metadata Management: Maintain data lineage, impact analysis, and version control using the Enterprise Meta>Environment (EME) / Metadata Hub.

Automation & Scripting: Write Unix/Linux shell scripts and wrapper tools to automate execution, schedule batch jobs, and manage file movements.

Data Cleansing & Auditing: Apply complex business transformations and validation logic to clean, validate, and reconcile incoming medical data.

Production Support: Diagnose daily data pipeline job failures, debug data issues, and implement production hotfixes

Requirements

Primary Toolset: Extensive hands-on experience with Ab Initio components (GDE, Co>Operating System, EME, Conduct>It, and Express>It).

Database Skills: Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL and PL/SQL queries for relational databases like Oracle, Teradata, DB2, or SQL Server.

Operating Systems: Deep knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and Korn/Bash shell scripting.

Big Data (Preferred): Experience integrating Ab Initio with modern data lakes like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive) or cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS).

Job Schedulers: Working knowledge of enterprise batch scheduling tools such as Autosys, Control-M, or Tivoli (TWS)

Qualifications & Soft Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a quantitative field.

Experience: Typically requires 3 to 7+ years of dedicated ETL and Ab Initio application development experience.

Domain Knowledge: Prior experience in Healthcare IT or insurance is highly desirable to navigate HIPAA rules and standard industry medical codes (ICD-10, CPT).

Communication: Strong analytical skills to collaborate across teams with data architects, business analysts, and QA specialists
