Job description
- Oversee daily operations of both unclassified and classified enclaves, including routers, switches, load balancers, and other core equipment. Maintain optimal performance and availability for over 4,000 end-user devices.
- Respond to Tier III network incidents, isolate faults, and implement corrective actions to restore service. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., 844th Comm Group, DISA Tier IV) as needed.
- Support the execution of approved Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), including hardware reconfiguration, firmware updates, and topology adjustments.
- Assist with implementation of network upgrades, device refreshes, and infrastructure redesigns based on evolving DISA enterprise strategies.
- Apply and validate configuration baselines across network devices, reconciling current settings with approved standards. Document deviations and execute corrective measures.
- Collaborate with the Document Analyst to ensure real-time updates to Visio-based logical and physical network diagrams following any approved change.
- Provide input on business requirement documents (BRDs), risk assessments, and network impact analyses. Validate feasibility of proposed network changes
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise or DoD networks, including router/switch configuration, firewall updates, and patching.
- Working knowledge of Cisco networking gear, including Catalyst and Nexus series switches.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools, IP subnetting, VLAN design, and TCP/IP troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting IT modernization efforts and technical documentation.
- Ability to support day-to-day operations while contributing to configuration management and performance optimization.
- CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
