Job description
- The Hook: Join an elite, family-owned automation leader with a century-long legacy of engineering excellence, where you will drive custom machinery builds from initial scratch-start programming through final global commissioning., The company completely rejects corporate bureaucracy, maintaining a highly supportive, close-knit engineering culture where technical contributors have a direct voice in system design. This role is unique because it spans the entire project lifecycle. An engineer will see a custom cell born on the paper, program its initial logic path from scratch, debug its movements on the assembly floor, and ultimately deploy it live at a customer's facility, providing an incredible sense of project ownership and technical accomplishment., * Starting up and initializing complex industrial robotic platforms from scratch, including frame calibration, mastering, and multi-protocol I/O communication configurations.
- Designing complete robot programming architecture, ensuring seamless handshaking logic between articulated arms, central PLC programs, and standalone material handling platforms.
- Collaborating directly with internal project leads through the entire build, run-off, and debug lifecycle to guarantee systems meet strict customer performance cycle times.
- Providing hands-on technical guidance during mechanical and electrical assembly, tracking down complex wiring faults, and optimizing advanced end-of-arm tooling (EOAT).
- Integrating, calibrating, and programming advanced 2D/3D Vision Systems into robotic cells for high-speed part inspection, sorting, and precision guidance applications.
- Partnering with internal application engineering groups to provide critical real-time technical insight when designing future automation concepts and quoting custom projects.
- Mentoring shop assembly technicians and junior automation personnel to ensure build efficiencies remain exceptionally high.
