Job description
We're looking for a confident and commercially minded Data Engineering & Analytics Manager to lead the delivery of reliable, scalable data products that power operational insight and smarter decision-making across ND&I. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical depth with people leadership, bringing together engineering, analytics and business priorities to create real impact in a complex operational environment. What you'll do
- Lead the design, build and optimisation of ND&I data pipelines, integrations and transformation layers, ensuring performance, scalability and resilience.
- Ensure data engineering aligns with architectural direction, standards and future-state patterns defined by the Data & AI Architect.
- Own and manage the engineering and analytics backlog, prioritising delivery based on ND&I value, readiness and dependency needs.
- Oversee development of dashboards, analytical products and data models, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and alignment with defined business metrics.
- Drive reliability of ND&I data assets by monitoring pipeline health, resolving data issues and ensuring SLAs are met for critical data products.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Data Engineers and Data Analysts, setting clear expectations for delivery quality and technical excellence.
- Embed data quality controls, metadata and lineage requirements into engineering workflows in partnership with the Data Governance & Quality Lead.
- Collaborate with operational, tooling and transformation teams to translate business requirements into structured engineering and analytical work packages.
- Ensure ND&I data solutions support analytics, automation and AI readiness by providing clean, governed and production-ready datasets.

Requirements
- Strong experience leading data engineering and analytics delivery in complex or operational environments.
- Deep understanding of modern data architectures, ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration frameworks, cloud data platforms and APIs.
- Experience delivering high-quality dashboards, analytics and operational reporting products.
- Ability to manage engineering backlogs, balance competing priorities and align delivery to business needs.
- Strong technical problem-solving capability, especially in pipeline reliability and data issue resolution.
- Experience embedding data quality, governance and lineage controls within engineering workflows.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and operational teams.
Experience in telecoms, engineering or other infrastructure-heavy environments would be advantageous.
