Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced networking professional to take ownership of network projects, act as a technical escalation point, and help shape network strategy across a diverse client base., As the networking specialist within the Infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting complex network environments while providing expert guidance on projects and technical escalations., * Delivering network infrastructure projects across multiple client environments

  • Acting as the senior escalation point for networking issues and design challenges
  • Designing, implementing and documenting network solutions
  • Supporting technical onboarding activities and infrastructure assessments
  • Driving improvements through automation, standardisation and best practices
  • Working closely with internal teams to support project delivery and technical proposals
  • Maintaining accurate technical documentation and network diagrams
  • Researching and evaluating new technologies to improve services and client outcomes

Requirements

We're looking for someone with strong experience working within an MSP or multi-customer environment, alongside solid networking and infrastructure expertise.

Key technical skills include:

  • Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, WAN, LAN, WLAN, VLAN and VPN technologies
  • Hands-on experience with firewall and networking solutions including Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, Sophos, WatchGuard and UniFi
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, MFA and SSO
  • Virtualisation experience with Hyper-V, VMware or Citrix
  • Experience supporting cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
  • Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills

Desirable

  • Fortinet certifications (NSE/FCA/FCP) or strong Fortinet experience

  • CCNA, CCNP, Network+ or similar networking certifications

  • Experience with Cisco Meraki, UniFi and Sophos networking solutions

  • Microsoft certifications

  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools, A full UK driving licence is required, as occasional travel to customer sites will form part of the role. Skills
