Job description

CAE USA is seeking a talented and motivated professional to join our team at our Binghamton, NY location. This role is an integral part of our mission to deliver world-class simulation, training, and mission-readiness solutions. The selected candidate will work onsite at our Binghamton facility, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams, program managers, and customers. What You'll Do:

  • Design and maintain core systems that ensure reliable, highperforming simulator operation.

  • Modernize legacy simulator systems with enhancements, new features, and optimized stability.

  • Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate system components seamlessly into realtime training devices.

  • Support system reviews and crossfunctional innovation to evolve nextgeneration training capabilities.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues across modern and legacy platforms.

  • Contribute to systems that directly support pilot readiness and mission safety., * Your engineering directly supports pilot readiness and mission safety around the globe.

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

  • Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.

  • Must be able to work overtime on and off-shifts as required.

  • This position will be onsite in Binghamton, NY.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to perform normal office duties (e.g. sitting for long periods at a desk)

  • Must be able to travel CONUS/OCONUS via car and airplane

  • Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator

Salary Range: $153,300-169,500

The actual compensation rate is subject to the evaluation of the following factors (but not limited to): the candidate's work experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Systems, Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or related engineering field.
  • 8+ years of systems engineering experience in the defense domain (mission systems, C4ISR, EW, avionics, sensors, or comparable).
  • Demonstrated strength in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical system issues.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret or higher clearance prior to the start of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
  • Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS)
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of network and platform interfaces (e.g., Ethernet/TCP/IP, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429/664, serial buses).
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and a passion for building reliable, high-performance systems.
  • Experience working in Waterfall and/or Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare, radar/EO/IR sensors, signal processing/DSP, or secure communications.
