Job description

This role focuses on designing, executing, and validating tests for electrical and mechanical spaceflight hardware used in small satellite systems. You will develop test procedures and test articles, perform detailed electronics troubleshooting, and run a wide range of environmental tests to ensure hardware reliability in demanding space environments. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to cutting-edge space missions by supporting the development and qualification of advanced spaceflight hardware., * Design comprehensive test plans, procedures, and test articles for electrical and mechanical spaceflight hardware.

  • Develop and document test setups, including required equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation, to support validation of spaceflight components and systems.
  • Execute test procedures accurately and consistently, ensuring all steps are followed and results are clearly recorded.
  • Validate test documentation and equipment, confirming that test configurations meet engineering and mission requirements.
  • Perform environmental testing, including shock, vibration, and thermal vacuum (TVAC) tests, to qualify hardware for operation in space environments.
  • Monitor and control environmental test conditions to ensure they align with specified test profiles and standards.
  • Conduct electronics troubleshooting, including fault isolation and root cause determination, for issues discovered during testing.
  • Analyze test data to identify anomalies, trends, and performance margins, and provide clear, actionable feedback to design and engineering teams.
  • Document test results, findings, and recommendations in a clear and organized manner for use in design verification and mission readiness reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to refine test requirements, improve test coverage, and support design improvements.
  • Support the qualification and acceptance of spaceflight hardware for satellite missions by ensuring all required tests are completed and documented.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability in all testing activities within a manufacturing and test environment., The role is based in a manufacturing and test environment focused on the development and qualification of spaceflight hardware. You will work hands-on with test equipment, environmental chambers, vibration and shock test systems, and thermal vacuum (TVAC) facilities to validate satellite components and integrated systems. The environment emphasizes precision, safety, and adherence to documented procedures, with close collaboration among engineering, test, and production teams. Work may involve time in clean or controlled areas, as well as on the lab floor around active test setups and instrumentation.
