Job description
- Design, develop, test, and deploy full stack applications within AWS cloud environments.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and program stakeholders to define and implement technical solutions.
- Contribute to system architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain backend services and frontend components.
- Integrate and manage relational database systems.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Build, expand, and maintain regression and automated test suites.
- Apply agile development principles to deliver incremental, high-quality software releases.
- Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices, standards, and security requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Foundational experience in Computer Science principles.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Proficiency in Java or JavaScript.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience with infrastructure tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience developing and maintaining regression test suites.
- Experience supporting systems engineering or software development efforts for space-based or ground-based systems.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development within AWS environments.
Level Differentiation
Level 3 (Experienced Software Engineer)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Contributes to development efforts with moderate supervision.
- Applies established engineering practices and supports implementation of system components.
- Participates in design discussions and contributes to solution development.
- Executes tasks across the software lifecycle with increasing independence.
Level 4 (Senior Software Engineer)
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Leads design and development efforts for complex system components.
- Influences software architecture and technical direction.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Drives engineering excellence, best practices, and process improvements.
- Interfaces directly with program stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission objectives.
