Sr Java Backend - Miami

This is a high-impact technical role. We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer who thrives in building scalable, cloud-native applications and solving complex engineering challenges. You will own the design, development, and delivery of robust backend systems using Java and Spring Boot. Operating strictly on-site in Miami, you will be a key player in our engineering team, bringing deep technical expertise and leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate development and ensure technical excellence.

This is a hands-on execution role. You are responsible for the technical health of the codebase, the performance of the architecture, and delivering high-quality software that scales.

What To Expect In This Role (Responsibilities)

• Backend Architecture & Execution: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services using Java and Spring Boot. You will own your code from design to production.
• Cloud-Native Engineering: Architect, deploy, and optimize high-performance microservices and cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS.
• AI-Powered Development: Integrate and utilize modern AI tools (such as coding assistants or AI APIs) to optimize code quality, automate routine tasks, and accelerate the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Code Quality & Standards Enforcement: Write clean, testable code, conduct rigorous deep-dive code reviews, and maintain high standards of engineering excellence and performance.
• Operational & Delivery Excellence: Proactively identify technical debt, make pragmatic trade-offs between velocity and scalability, and ensure seamless delivery alongside cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Do you have experience in Tooling?, * Technical Foundation: 5+ years in software engineering with a proven track record of building and scaling backend systems.

• Stack Expertise: Deep, hands-on mastery of Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem. You must be able to write highly optimized code and conduct deep architectural reviews.
• Cloud Architecture: Solid, demonstrable experience delivering solutions on AWS (e.g., EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, RDS).
• AI Proficiency: Knowledge and practical experience using AI tools within the development workflow to enhance productivity and code quality.
• Location: Must be located in Miami, FL and available to work on-site.

Nice to Have

• Solid experience in Microservices and API-first design.
• Exposure to modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Deep knowledge of both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
