Job description

  • Actively participate in architecture and design of various software components focused on creating applications that leverage technologies such as virtualization, micro services, SDN, NFV, and Big Data platforms and technologies;
  • Drive engineering projects by developing software solutions, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations;
  • Independently develop a full software stack, understanding the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work;
  • Interact with system engineers to define system requirement and/or necessary requirements for automation;
  • Contribute to designs to implement new ideas which use new frameworks to improve an existing or new system/process/service; and
  • Write basic documentation on how technology works and create clear documentation for new code and systems used, and document systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the manager level.

Requirements

Do you have experience in gRPC?, Specific Skills Requirement - must have educational or professional experience in:

  • Experience (1) using Kubernetes/Helm, IBM Bluemix (IBM Cloud), and PCF with GitOps CI/CD and blue-green/canary strategies to deploy and operate microservices with zero-downtime rollouts and make clear trade-offs (latency, throughput, cost, RPO/RTO).
  • Experience (2) using Kafka (with Connect) and RabbitMQ alongside Hadoop/Spark-plus schema governance and CDC - to build and run SLO-driven streaming/data pipelines (reliability/latency/throughput), including partitioning/windowing, exactly-/at-least-once semantics, backfills, and cost-aware scaling.
  • Experience (3) using Java/Spring Boot and Node.js with Redis, MySQL, and Cassandra to implement a polyglot data layer (Redis for caching/rate-limits and counters; MySQL for transactional/admin workflows; Cassandra for high-volume telemetry/time-series), expose REST/gRPC APIs, and automate build/test/deploy via CI/CD and shell scripting.
  • Experience (4) using requirements engineering practices (SRS, user stories, acceptance criteria) with system-engineering collaboration to define implementable system/automation requirements, map non-functionals (security, reliability, latency), and maintain traceability to implementation and tests.
  • Experience (5) using security and observability stacks OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, secrets management, RBAC/ABAC, secure-SDLC, and logs/metrics/traces with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana or ELK to harden services and data tiers and operate to actionable SLOs/error budgets.
  • Experience (6) using lightweight PoCs, technical evaluations, and thorough documentation (how-it-works guides, system/design diagrams, presentations, manager-ready write-ups) to validate new frameworks in the stack (Kafka/RabbitMQ, Spark, Spring Boot/Node.js) and drive measurable system/process improvements.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
