Job description
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, You'll be the go-to person for operational data insights and dashboarding. This role bridges operations and analytics: you'll build, maintain and evolve reports and dashboards in Power BI to support business operations, while digging into operational data to surface trends, issues and opportunities., * Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that support operational KPIs, performance tracking, and trend-analysis for leadership and frontline teams.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Operations, Finance, Revenue Operations, Data Services, etc.) to gather requirements, translate them into analytical solutions and deliver actionable insights.
- Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL databases, Tabular Models, Excel/CSV, APIs, systems) and perform data cleansing, transformation and modeling to create trusted datasets.
- Conduct ongoing operational data analysis: identify patterns, anomalies, root-cause issues, performance levers and present findings with visualizations and narrative.
- Partner with operations teams to monitor metrics, generate periodic reports, and ad-hoc deep dives.
- Support the operations data infrastructure: help with data governance, standardization of metrics, documentation of dashboards/reports, training users on self-service analytics.
- Maintain report performance, implement best practices in models and visualization, ensure dashboards are user-friendly and scalable.
- When required, assist in process improvement initiatives by providing data-driven recommendations and supporting change management through analytics.
- Develop and maintain documentation of data sources, definitions, key metrics, reporting schedules and data flows.
- Serve as a liaison between analytics/IT teams and operations to ensure timely delivery of accurate reporting and analytics.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or related field
- Demonstrable experience (0-2+ years) as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst or Operations Analyst with strong Power BI skills.
- Proficiency with Power BI: building reports, dashboards, data models, DAX, Power Query.
- Strong SQL skills (writing queries, joining tables, aggregations) and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience integrating multiple data sources, cleaning and transforming data, building trustworthy data sets for analytics.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capability; ability to move from raw data to actionable insights.
- Clear communication skills-capable of explaining complex data topics to non-technical stakeholders and presenting insights in an operational context.
- Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple reporting and analysis tasks, meet deadlines, respond to ad-hoc requests.
- Familiarity with operations metrics and processes (On Time performance, service metrics)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and driving independent work while collaborating with others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a transportation-oriented environment.
- Experience with other BI tools or data platforms (Tableau, Looker, Power Platform, Azure Synapse).
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma
- Experience with data governance, metric standardization and establishing reporting frameworks.
- Prior experience training users on self-service analytics or building analytics culture.
