Job description

We are looking for a motivated Application Engineer to join our Agile team and help build modern application and automation solutions that drive business value. This role is ideal for early-career to mid-level developers who enjoy hands-on development, problem solving, and continuous learning. You will work closely with experienced engineers to design and deliver scalable solutions, while growing your skills across application development, data, and automation technologies. Over time, you will have the opportunity to expand into automation engineering and intelligent process solutions, including unattended automation. This is a full-time, exempt position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Develop and enhance applications based on business and technical requirements
  • Partner with senior engineers and team members to design practical, scalable solutions
  • Perform hands-on development, including configuration, scripting, and implementation
  • Contribute to solutions that improve efficiency, including automation and workflow capabilities
  • Support the design and implementation of automation solutions, including unattended processes, as part of broader application delivery
  • Ensure quality through unit testing, code reviews, and development best practices
  • Follow SDLC practices, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified during QA and business validation
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders in an Agile, team-oriented environment
  • Support production releases and ongoing application stability
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and team efficiency
  • Continuously build technical knowledge, including emerging technologies such as AI-assisted coding
  • Provide accurate and timely status updates on assigned work
  • Build knowledge of P&C insurance concepts and internal systems

Requirements

Do you have experience in Version control systems?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * 2+ years of experience in application development, data, automation, or related technical roles

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and strong desire to learn and grow technical skills
  • Interest in automation, process improvement, and modern development approaches
  • Exposure to or interest in GenAI tools or AI-assisted development, such as Copilot Studio
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions with appropriate guidance
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile, collaborative environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Experience building or configuring software solutions, either through traditional coding or low-code platforms
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) or similar collaboration tools
  • Exposure to software development lifecycle practices, including testing and code quality
  • Some understanding of APIs or system integrations
  • Some understanding of Cloud, especially Azure
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and work through technical problems
  • Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerBI)
  • Automation concepts, workflow tools, or process orchestration
  • Data integration or data processing experience
  • Scripting or configuration-based development
  • Experience working in Agile environments
