Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure. This role will play a critical part in building scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments that support modern, containerized applications.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience with cloud platforms, primarily AWS, and a strong background in infrastructure as code, automation, and system reliability. This individual will work cross-functionally with engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure our cloud architecture meets both performance and compliance requirements.
This is a hands-on technical role with ownership over cloud strategy, architecture, and continuous improvement initiatives, including cost optimization, system resilience, and operational excellence.
This is an on-site role supporting our Chandler, AZ office., * Partner with application development teams to design, architect, and implement scalable cloud solutions, with a focus on containerized applications
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure cloud environments meet audit, logging, and monitoring requirements
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to enable automated, repeatable, and reliable deployments
- Configure, monitor, and support cloud infrastructure and services to ensure high availability, performance, and security
- Lead and support cloud migration efforts, including planning, execution, and optimization of workloads
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and best practices
- Continuously evaluate and improve cloud environments for cost efficiency, scalability, and resilience
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS core services (e.g., compute, storage, networking, IAM)
- Experience designing and supporting containerized workloads (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
- Basic experience with PostgreSQL administration
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, security, and operations teams
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to support U.S. government, defense, and public sector customer programs., * Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53 and/or FedRAMP frameworks
- Background in network or systems administration
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Splunk
- Experience with Microsoft Azure in addition to AWS
