Senior Azure Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to build and secure our Azure infrastructure environment from the ground up. Our current environment contains some ad-hoc configurations, and we need a dedicated architect to establish a robust, modern infrastructure. You will work directly with the VP of IT and Head of Cybersecurity to replace legacy systems with a strict, code-first architecture.

Core Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain a secure Azure infrastructure utilizing a strict code-first approach.
• Implement a Zero Trust mindset across all aspects of the environment, including identity, networking, and server configurations.
• Architect and execute enterprise disaster recovery and high availability configurations utilizing native Azure tools.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity leadership to build commercial-grade security walls that comply with strict financial industry regulations.

• Infrastructure as Code: Proven expertise in writing Infrastructure as Code from scratch, specifically utilizing Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Zero Trust Networking: Deep packet-level experience with Azure networking, specifically focusing on Private Endpoints, Private Link, and internal Azure configurations.
• Disaster Recovery: Demonstrated hands-on experience and strong foundational knowledge utilizing Azure Site Recovery (ASR). You must know which DR technologies to use and when to apply them.
• Commercial Experience: 7+ years of dedicated IT infrastructure experience. A background in the commercial, enterprise, or financial sectors is highly preferred over pre-built government contracting environments.
• Proximity: Must reside within a manageable, daily commuting distance to Bethesda, MD for a 4-day-a-week on-site schedule.
