Job description

As an Infrastructure Project Manager - IT Site Builds, you will partner with Infrastructure & Operations, Facilities, Construction, Security, End User Services, Procurement, PMO, business stakeholders, and external vendors to plan, coordinate, and execute IT activities for new site builds, site expansions, relocations, and site modification projects. In this role, you will report to the Site Modernization Program Lead., * Lead and manage IT project delivery activities for new site builds, site modifications, office expansions, relocations, and retrofit projects, ensuring alignment with construction timelines, business readiness, and go-live milestones.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, resource plans, dependency trackers, and readiness checkpoints across required IT workstreams, including network, MDF/IDF, server room, wireless, UCaaS, structured cabling, telecom, collaboration, and end-user compute requirements.
  • Serve as the primary IT project lead for assigned site build initiatives, coordinating cross-functional delivery with Infrastructure, Security, End User Services, Facilities, Construction, Procurement, PMO, business teams, and external vendors.
  • Facilitate project meetings, readiness reviews, issue resolution sessions, leadership updates, and stakeholder communications to ensure milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and decisions are clearly understood.
  • Support project budget development, forecasting, purchase order coordination, vendor quotes, statements of work, material readiness, delivery schedules, installation activities, and tracking of scope, schedule, and cost performance.
  • Maintain active management of project risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, and changes; proactively identify construction delays, supply chain constraints, technical dependencies, and resource conflicts; and drive mitigation plans through resolution.
  • Ensure site deployments adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, operational support expectations, project governance practices, stage gates, cutover planning, turnover documentation, and service transition requirements.
  • Coordinate operational readiness and go-live transition activities, including hypercare planning, support handoff, asset and documentation updates, escalation procedures, post-project reviews, and lessons learned.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 20% of travel may be required based on project and site needs., * Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Director, Technology Programs / Site Modernization Program Lead. This role does not have direct people management responsibilities but will lead cross-functional project teams and vendor delivery activities.
  • Financial Responsibilities: Supports development and tracking of project budgets, forecasts, purchase orders, vendor quotes, project expenditures, and cost/schedule variances for assigned site build initiatives.

  • May require walking active construction or build sites, attending site readiness meetings, and coordinating with site vendors and contractors.
  • Occasional lifting of small technology equipment or participation in physical site readiness validation may be required.
  • Ability to travel to domestic and/or international locations based on project demands.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Vendor communication?, * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of project management experience in IT infrastructure, site deployment, workplace technology, or related technology programs.
  • Experience managing projects involving network and wireless deployments, datacenter/server room or MDF/IDF readiness, UCaaS/voice/collaboration technologies, structured cabling, telecom coordination, or end-user technology deployment initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with complex schedules, dependencies, vendor coordination, and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong knowledge of project management practices including scheduling, budgeting, risk management, issue management, change control, governance, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience coordinating internal technical teams and third-party vendors in deadline-driven environments.
  • Proficiency with project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, ServiceNow,
  • Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership., * Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, office, or multi-use facility environments.
  • Experience with global or multi-site IT deployment programs and geographically distributed project teams.
  • Familiarity with MDF/IDF design considerations, structured cabling standards, rack and stack planning, telecom room readiness, and physical infrastructure dependencies.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking, security dependencies, infrastructure support models, IT service transition, and operational handoff processes.
  • Experience in organizations with established PMO governance, project stage gates, scope and change control, and formal risk and issue management practices.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, CAPM, ITIL Foundation, Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery experience is beneficial.
