Job description
Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of IT Operations Administrator II. This position will be onsite, located at our Nucor West Virginia division in Apple Grove, WV.
This role plays a key part in accelerating our AI and automation roadmap, including the design and implementation of agentic systems that reduce manual effort and improve workflow efficiency. This position will require a partnership with business stakeholders to translate real operational challenges into scalable, AIpowered solutions.
This position requires travel approximately up to 15 % to support other divisions.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Business Technology (NBT) will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Enterprise level responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Acting as a trusted partner with business operations and production processes
- Provide mentorship to IT infrastructure peers
- Windows server and Linux server administration
- The implementation/installation, maintenance/troubleshooting, licensing of software/applications, and hardware maintenance agreements and contracts
- Managing virtual cloud platforms such as VMWare Environments, Virtual Private Cloud, and/or Azure Computing, including storage, network, full VMs, and container applications
- Managing and supporting access control and camera system solutions
- Active Directory, Certificates, DNS, DHCP, File Shares, SMTP, IIS Entra ID O365 administration, SharePoint
- Backup, testing, and recovery including updating and maintaining the disaster recovery plan
- Project Management in Agile framework including overseeing contractor responsibilities and duties
- SQL and Oracle database management
- Assisting with network and security administration
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades and improvements, and contribute to solution recommendations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Work a rotational on-call IT support schedule to include evenings and weekends as assigned
Requirements
- 5 years technical experience managing, designing, and engineering enterprise IT infrastructure in a data center/cloud environment
- IT related associate degree, or 2 years of equivalent recent experience, * 6+ years related work experience
- Advanced experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting MS Windows, Office, Outlook, and other basic Windows applications
- Advanced experience troubleshooting networking equipment, conference rooms audio/visual, and security systems/cameras/badges
- Advanced experience with workstation imaging software and an MDM solution such as Intune
- Advanced experience with IIS Administration and/or SharePoint Administration
- Advanced experience with Cohesity/Veeam systems
- Advanced experience with configuring and managing server environments
- VMware VCP Certification
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
- Azure Administrator Certification
- Scripting experience, including but not limited to PowerShell and Python
- Project management experience
- Manufacturing-related IT experience, with a preference for process-related industries
- AZ-040T00-A: Automating Administration with PowerShell
- AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator
- AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
- Experience in a heavy industrial setting
- Customer support or helpdesk experience
