Job description
The Buyer is responsible for procurement activities, supplier management, inventory planning, material sourcing, cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring materials are available to support production schedules. The role requires strong analytical, purchasing, supply chain, and supplier relationship management skills., Procure materials and monitor inventory levels to support production requirements.
Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) for cost and lead-time accuracy.
Manage Kanban systems and daily procurement reports.
Create and maintain supplier VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) agreements.
Support supplier qualification, RFQs, contract negotiations, and sourcing initiatives.
Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production teams regarding material requirements.
Facilitate supplier meetings to resolve quality and delivery issues.
Process purchase requisitions and indirect purchasing requests.
Perform Oracle part setup and maintenance activities.
Assist with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), supplier notifications, and PO updates.
Conduct supplier performance reviews and scorecard evaluations.
Support inventory audits, receiving issues, AP reconciliation, and month-end reporting.
Participate in cost-saving projects, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Reconcile company purchasing card transactions through Concur.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Certified Supply Chain Professional certification?, Do you have experience in Vendor relationship management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, Operations, or related field.
1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
Experience with SAP.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Strong communication and supplier management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Supply Chain certifications (APICS, CPSM, CSCP, etc.).
Experience with Oracle ERP.
Experience with Kanban and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).
Continuous Improvement / Kaizen experience.
