Job description

Isuzu Logistics North America is seeking a Technical Team Lead - Motor Pool to support vehicle processing, staging, and shipment operations within our growing logistics and distribution network. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced logistics, yard operations, or automotive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading teams while ensuring safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.

As the Technical Team Lead, you will coordinate daily vehicle movement activities, oversee staging and shipment readiness, support motor pool drivers, and help maintain seamless vehicle flow from production through outbound distribution.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate daily vehicle movement between production, PIO, staging areas, and outbound shipping lanes.
  • Create SAP pick orders and coordinate shipment staging based on carrier load schedules.
  • Monitor yard operations, lane utilization, and shipment readiness.
  • Assign and prioritize vehicle movement tasks to drivers based on operational needs.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly staged, documented, tagged, and prepared for shipment.
  • Coordinate re-staging, repairs, and resolution of vehicles not loaded for shipment.
  • Maintain yard organization, traffic flow, inventory accuracy, and lot control.
  • Support vehicle maintenance scheduling and time-based service requirements.
  • Assist with port modification programs, campaigns, and special vehicle handling activities.
  • Train and mentor new motor pool drivers on safety, vehicle handling, and standard work procedures.
  • Promote compliance with safety standards, PPE requirements, quality procedures, and 5S initiatives.
  • Support daily reporting, attendance tracking, and operational improvement activities., * Be part of a growing automotive logistics operation supporting a globally recognized manufacturer.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Task prioritization?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma or GED.

  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle movement, yard operations, logistics, automotive manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle handling and yard safety practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with documentation systems.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities., * Prior Team Lead or supervisory experience.
  • Experience moving commercial vehicles.
  • Familiarity with VIN tracking, vehicle documentation, or inventory systems.
  • CDL certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of 5S, lean operations, and continuous improvement methodologies., This position requires working outdoors in a vehicle yard environment with exposure to changing weather conditions and vehicle traffic. Candidates should be comfortable standing, walking, entering/exiting vehicles frequently, lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally, and working overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts when necessary.
